One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On my last backpacking trip, through Ventana Wilderness, we were what seemed like the first hikers of the season to pass through. The trails were overgrown with shrubs and poison oak and downed trees lay across the path like railroad ties. The high water in the rivers had us scouring for the as though we were ants lost from the line. Hiking in the back-country with hardly a trail to speak of and realizing nature's power to swallow all was an incredible experience.
