Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love traveling, and in my experiences there have been a lot of really kind and welcoming people that have assisted me along the way. I would love to be able to pay that back and be able to support folks who need a place to crash while they adventure and explore new areas.
I am always looking to meet new people and hear their stories. Sharing stories of past experiences is one of my favorite pastimes, and being part of the audience is one of my favorite things to do.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
2016 Pacific Crest Trail Thru-Hiker
Teach, Learn, Share
Upon graduating college, there was excitement in the air and I was nervous about the upcoming unknown. I had teaching plans laid out for the summer and fall, and an even larger adventure planned in the spring. I would pack my life into a backpack and conquer the entire Appalachian Trail, 2,185 miles from Georgia to Maine. This would be an escape from society, from years of studying biology, and from the beginning of a career in education, a choice which I was often deeply unsure of. I would spend my next few months preparing until my flight at the end of March, and then begin an experience of a lifetime. My five-month journey, full of beautiful wilderness and new friends, turned out to be as exhilarating as it was grueling, and was full of many unexpected outcomes. Not only did I meet new people and have amazing adventures, the trail also stirred my interest and knowledge of biology and prepared me to become a better educator.
I've recently started working as a scientist and educator at Harvard Medical School as a Microscopy Imaging Specialist.
