About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Wandering around the world. One adventure at a time.

ABOUT ME

Traveler. Adventurer. Writer. Photographer. Philosophizer. Bartender. Explorer. And so much more.

After years of unconscious living, I have finally woken up. I want to leave my mark by helping others and giving to those in need, all while meeting new people and having authentic experiences. From making a meal to language learning to hearing about your travels and life over a beer, I'm open for whatever comes my way. I'm always down to meet new people, make new friends, and experience life from a local's perspective.

I guess you could call me passionately curious. Always have, always will be. I enjoy learning about and exploring new places, new people, and new cultures.

Looking for adventures in lands far and wide, and greatly appreciate the opportunity for somewhere to rest my head.

PHILOSOPHY

"After sleeping through a hundred million centuries we have finally opened our eyes on a sumptuous planet, sparkling with color, bountiful with life. Within decades we must close our eyes again. Isn't it a noble, enlightened way of spending our brief time in the sun, to work at understanding the universe and how we have come to wake up in it? This is how I answer when am asked...why I bother to get up in the mornings." - R. Dawkins

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - M. Twain

"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing." - H. Keller

"What would you do if you weren't afraid?" - S. Johnson

You've only got one. Never stop exploring.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

One day at a time. Ideally I'd like to travel the globe, hopping from one place to the next, by volunteering/helping any community I can.
Can't host since I'm on the move, but I'm more than happy to help with whatever you need.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far so good! Started surfing mid July 2014, and all have been great. Have also had some amazing experiences otherwise staying with locals in a few small towns in Argentina, and a very gracious family in South Africa.

Music, Movies, and Books

For movies, anything that's funny, action-packed, or scary, count me in. Also really enjoy documentaries (social, cultural, historical, etc), but since those are sometimes a bit heavy, I have to be in the mood.

For music, I like almost everything. Avicii. Mumford & Sons. Coldplay. Red Hot Chili Peppers. Calvin Harris. The Civil Wars. Amy Winehouse. Dave Matthews. Ed Sheeran. Eric Clapton. Louis Armstrong. John Legend. OneRepublic. Eminem. Timbaland. U2. And more. The only thing I'm not into is hardcore metal because it gives me a headache.

Had a massive book collection of all different genres before I left but gave it all away so I could travel -- trying to slowly but surely rebuild with ebooks; any recommendations?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So many! From visiting Stonehenge in the U.K, to ice trekking on one of the biggest glaciers in Argentina, to floating in Israel's Dead Sea, to releasing baby turtles into the ocean in Mexico, I've been blessed with amazing experiences all over the world. As I continue to travel the globe, I can only hope that my adventures will never cease to amaze, inspire and change me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm happy to practice English with you, if that's something you're struggling with. Learning more languages in general is definitely something I'm interested in, so feel free to share your language with me! I have a little bit of knowledge in a lot of subjects, so if you see something I'm interested in and want to learn more, just ask -- I'm more than happy to share.
