just moved to portland after 7 or so years in europe (berlin, paris, lyon, n.ireland, etc). hoping to make something of myself in the music industry with well-written songs and quality live performances. more on that later....

the life aquatic w/steve zissous is my favorite movie, along w/high fidelity, spinal tap and other christopher guest films, le grand detournement, will ferrell makes me laugh in just about everything and lots of others.

books: here's where for some it may get pretentious... mainly french literature, i'll just give names, Proust, Houellebecq, Beigbeder, Gide, Maupassant, Camus, Sartre, though also, joyce, melville, philosophy etc, etc

Music: lots. ryan adams, radiohead, interpol, neil young, elliot smith, fleet foxes, nick drake, tim buckley, jeff buckley, pavement (including all things stephen malkmus), the avett brothers, the black keys, weezer's first two albums, beck, arcade fire, bob dylan, andrew bird, owen, pedro the lion, sigur ros, spoon, stevie wonder, wilco, whiskeytown, sufjan stevens,band of horses,counting crows, cat stevens,hank williams, the dodos, john denver, rufus wainwright, queen, john vanderslice, do you REALLY want to know more?? i doubt it

nothing specific is coming.... maybe the birth of my son...oh wait... i don't have a son, so that's out... yeah, i don't know. i've traveled a lot and lived abroad quite a bit... that's been good.
