Ryan here! I have been lucky enough to travel to many countries and my best memories were made with Couchsurfers. While traveling, I rarely met other gay/queer backpackers on the road. Now that I am back living in NYC, I would like to offer my couch to other LGBTQ+ folks who need a friendly space to stay while they are visiting the city. I am lucky to have a great group of friends here, but always love meeting new people from around the world. 我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I meet people all the time who don't understand what couchsurfing really is. When I tell them about it, they always want to know, "what's the catch ?" Or they assume I'm just looking for a free place to sleep. As all of us couchsurfers know that Couchsurfing is about an exchange. Its a way for travelers to help other travelers.

When I was a backpacker, so many people hosted me from around the world. Now, it is my turn to pay it forward. As a fellow queer traveler, I am looking to make connections with other similar folks from around the world and to provide a welcoming space here in NYC.

I explored New York City during its week long blackout after hurricane Sandy in 2012. Walking down completely abandoned nyc streets in darkness felt surreal and post-apocalyptic. I think it is the most unique experience I will ever have.
