About Me

I am an adventurer and I try to live outside my comfort zone as frequently as possible. I love to travel, push my limits, and experience new cultures and people.

I graduated high school early to spend 3 months backpacking in the woods. It gave me the confidence to feel that I can survive pretty much anything that is thrown at me. This also ignited a yearning to travel and experience other cultures.

I have traveled from very intensely packed days with no downtime to very relaxed, non-planned itineraries. No matter what type of traveling I get involved in I have come to find the most important things are meeting the locals, eating the food, and trying whatever is put in front of me. That is why I love what Couchsurfing is about. I am excited to meet new people and have interesting conversations. I find almost everyone endearing and I am eager to continue to learn about different backgrounds and cultures.

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile, I hope we will get to enjoy a cup of tea, a pint of beer, catch a wave, or climb a rock in the future.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel. As much as I recognize the importance of hostels when traveling I like to have more personal experiences. I feel that by meeting locals and getting their advice on what to see and do is usually more rewarding than doing everything on the backpackers trail. I enjoy surrounding myself with others that love to travel and truly become engulfed in new experiences.

I love welcoming others with similar mindsets into my home and allowing them to experience the wonderful place I live. Sometimes my job doesn't allow me to hang out but I'll always give recommendations if I can't personally show you around!

Interests

I love to rock climb. I try to spend at least a week snowboarding every season. Animals are potentially my favorite beings on the planet. I believe animals should be raised and treated humanely. I have a (large) love, (little) hate relationship for that feeling when your adrenaline is pumping. When your hands are sweaty, your heart is racing, legs start to feel like jello, and then maybe you jump off a cliff. Yep I love that.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music, although I'm terrible at singing. I would like to learn to play the banjo.

As long as there is a plot to a movie, I will like it.

My favorite book, currently, is called Being Mortal.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Founded a fundraising for the Multiple Sclerosis Society while living out of my car for 10 months taking people with MS climbing for free.

I also accidentally spent the night on top of a cold mountain in the desert.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach people about medicine, Multiple Sclerosis, rock climbing, beer, hagfish, and a lot of other random topics. I can help with learning English as well!

I am open to learning everything from languages to people's passions to hidden bars in favorite cities.

I can share many smiles, laughs, hugs, high-fives, and any knowledge (I know) that you might find interesting. I would love to cook a healthy meal for us!
