Overview
About Me
I am Rym (or Rim 🤷♀️) and I am 28 years old. I recently quit my stable workohilic Parisian life to start a new adventure : solo traveling!
I just came back from my first (test) solo trip in Cambodia and I am looking forward to start traveling again !
I think we are all conditioned to think that ambition can only be work-related, that without a job we cannot be accomplished, that we are supposed to always work hard even for things that have no real value for the planet or the human being. This reality hit me when I got a burn out from work, and I decided I couldn’t live like that anymore.
From now on, I want my life to be about sharing with other people (emotions, experience, skills, help, ...), doing things that I truly and deeply want to do and stop planning my life like it is a business plan.
I want to be very conscious and enjoy every moment of every experience, I want to learn from people and teach them what I know...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I decided to create this account because I love meeting new people in places I visit, it makes me fully live the experience and get fully embedded with the culture!
The second reason is, obviously, financial... I want to spend the least money possible in logistics in order to be able to do activities, visit many countries, etc. Couchsurfing appears to be the best deal for this !
Interests
I love traveling and volunteering, I really enjoy helping people and playing with children. I enjoy jogging and play tennis (even though I am really bad).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went for a 3-day jungle trek in Mondulkiri Province, Cambodia and this experience was mind blowing.
I went out of comfort zone by trying to cope with the constant fear of meeting wild insects and animals, of falling down, of getting lost, etc. And overcoming these little limits I subconsciously set was extremely satisfying.
I cannot lie and say it was easy, and it was 100% fun, because it wasn’t (the first night was particularly tough, we were sleeping in military hamacs in the middle of the jungle). But that’s the thing, during the whole journey, I went from all states of mind and I didn’t have anything to do but accept them, live them, and let them go. There was no possible distraction.
In addition to challenging myself, I was also impressed by the way Cambodians are independent and autonomous. The guide and the ranger were able to build a bamboo raft in less than an hour, they also made lunch using bamboo as a pot and recipient.
We enjoyed this meal, sitting on... bamboos ! Again !
I loved this simplicity of life where you actually concentrate on the environment around you, the nature, and how your body and mind react to it.
