About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live life before it kills me/Vivre ma vie avant qu'il me tue/Vivir la vida antes de que ella me mate

ABOUT ME

I am Jesse! Hear me roar, see my climb, watch me... throw a frisbee! That didn't work out as well as I'd hoped. What can I say, I am going all of the way out of my entire damned mind right now.Anyway, I am a student, a photographer, a rock-climber, a hiker, a traveller, a sailor, a lover, a brother, a son, a friend, a stranger. I love life because it's the only one I've got. Bearing that in mind, it makes sense to make the most of it.Soy Jesse!

PHILOSOPHY

Success is measured not in what you have, but in what you have done... I plan to be very successful.

I also often say "Life will be the death of you, live it accordingly" which I made up... So I pretty much rock.

And I've also decided that the philosophy of my good friend Justin(http://www.couchsurfing.org/people/xerxes/): "Life is good, but enjoyment of its goodness is magnified by sharing it with others. Traveling alone is great, but only because it means you're more likely to meet more new friends" is a philosophy that displays considerable wisdom.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For now, I am mostly just showing people around the beautiful city I call my home, but for the occasional traveller who doesn't mind sleeping on the floor, my home is open!En este momento, por la mayoria estoy mostrando viajeros la ciudad hermosa que llamo mi casa. Pero a veces, hay viajeros por quien no importen que no tengo sofá ni tampoco otro colchón.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Ummm... I crashed on a couch in Australia once... my hosts were very nice, but they teased me about not being able to hold my liquor, and they laughed when I asked where I was... and laughed some more when I insisted that I was serious. Given that traumatic first experience, it's a wonder I haven't given up on the whole idea of couch-surfing, I suppose. But I just love the idea.I also once couchsurfed in Thailand for about three weeks in the basement of a church. Funny thing is, I did this before I had even heard of couchsurfing. Found a girl on myspace who lived in Chiang Rai and she was kind enough to ask around about letting me stay somewhere in town. Cool chick.

The Beach, LOTR, Choke, Fight Club, Invisible Monsters, High Fidelity, The Sparrow, Children of God, White Noise, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance... And many more...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sky diving! AUGH!I also climbed Mt. Fuji, saw the largest Buddha in the world, climbed inside Daibattsu and admired his slippers afterwards. I've wrestled pythons and hugged elephants, I've eaten some of the strangest things you could ever imagine. I've seen the heights of decadent wealth, and the depths of heartbreaking poverty.I've climbed rocks in Australia and America, surfed in Hawaii, Mexico and California, sailed in the San Juans. Still, there's so much left to do!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach people how to throw a frisbee, play chess, use a manual SLR camera, rock-climb, ride a motorcycle, start a fire, create a LAN, take apart a computer and put it back together with no pieces left over, tie a bowline, pitch a tent... Sail... Swim. Maintain and build bicycles, blow glass, play three different songs on the guitar, tie a tie, enjoy good beer. Wow, I have more skills than I realized.
