About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Trying to make positive impact one breath at a time.
ABOUT ME
Whether while travelling or at home, I love debating, playing/watching soccer, hiking, listening to hiphop/blues/folk, dancing to the same, reading articles that are on paper (aka newspapers), drinking good and bad beers, telling horrible jokes, listening to good and horrible jokes, being a part of horrible jokes, and yapping.
For history, I grew up in the city of Atlanta, journeyed to St. Louis for college, moved to Bushwick, Brooklyn to teach high school ESL. After teaching I pounced around the midwest and DC doing nonprofit microfinance and returend to ATL for grad school at Georgia Tech.
As far as substance goes, I love people, love positive people, love attempting to be positive, and love the rural and the urban.
PHILOSOPHY
Loving and if not, trying to be loving. I'd like to live my life like Radio Raheem's hands, if only his 'hate' hand were labeled 'tough love'. Don't remember: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ShgXC62a09o
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Have been a peripheral participant in CS until recently. In the past, would entertain CS travelers who stayed with my awesome CS friends/neighbors, in DC. Since I moved back to the hometown of ATL, it's been a bit tougher, as I live under the parents' roof. Intend on hosting when I move out of my parents' house, once I graduate from grad school (I'm encouraging them to host in the mean time!)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Encountered great folk by mooching off of my neighbors' and friends' hostees. Always flexible, fun folk that I meet through CS. Went to a few DC CS parties, where I saw a microcosm of DC - plethora of languages and cultures under one roof. This microcosm is apparently in hella cities!
Interests
Affordable housing, hiking, playing soccer, watching Barcelona soccer (and a couple of other teams that are alright), laughing, spitting out lame your-mamma jokes while hiking, canoeing, walking cities.
