About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Doing my one-year European Voluntary Service at Suderbyn Ecovillage on Gotland, Sweden.

ABOUT ME

I feel, a great deal of things are going wrong in this world (economic, social systems) and I want to figure out how and where to contribute best to change that.
I am also a voluntary contributor to the Student.Energy blog on energy and sustainability covering the German Energy Transition.
My own blog: https://globalsustainabilityblog.wordpress.com

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently rather surfing than hosting, as I am on my Master Thesis research in China.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have mainly been surfing by now. But I would like to get involved more actively in hosting as well.

Interests

Renewable energy technology and sustainable development.
Non-consumerist and minimalistic living.
Music, as life without music is no life.
Reading.
Playing piano and just started with teach myself how to play guitar.
Having good conversations, maybe during the later hours of a day, with a couple of beers and drinks in company.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Progressive rock and metal, folk, drone, original Hip-Hop, psychedelic, stoner, Krautrock

Books: Narziss und Goldmund (Hermann Hesse), Homo Faber (Max Frisch), Night Train to Lisbon (Pascal Mercier), The book of disquiet (Fernando Pessoa) and many more

Not so much of a movie fanatic.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

2 weeks trip in Tibet.

10 days of do-it-yourself small wind turbine construction course in Greece.
It actually worked at produced power!

Bar experiences: Telling yourself it will be only one beer, then being caught in conversations until dawn.

Organizing and giving a do-it-yourself small wind turbine construction course in Qingdao, China. And we managed to make it work :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Want to improve my Chinese, but that is a tough one.
Would like to improve guitar playing skills.
Want to learn more about alternative, communal ways of living.

Can teach piano, German, and a great deal about renewable energies.

Countries I’ve Visited

China, Croatia, Denmark, France, Greece, Italy, Malaysia, Norway, Poland, Serbia, Singapore, Spain, Thailand

Countries I’ve Lived In
