About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Keep finding reasons to love life!

ABOUT ME

I like to whistle a lot and I am a very positive person that always finds the good in situations. I'm very open to new options and I'm very flexible (like with plans, not with my body) which is why I think I enjoy traveling so much.

PHILOSOPHY

Happiness isn't a state to arrive at, but rather a method of traveling

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfed through France while studying abroad in 2012--Made many great friends and had some incredible experiences!

Interests

I love food. I love to eat it and I love to cook it. I also love music. Mostly listening to it and discovering new music but also plying guitar and piano. My favorite music usually gets categorized as folk or rock and roll namely Wilco, Andrew Bird and of course The Beatles. Most of my time and money goes into food or music, but anything left over goes to books, namely buying and reading them. My favorite authors are around the "Lost Generation," namely Hemingway and Fitzgerald but I also love the Beat generation (Kerouac and company).

Music, Movies, and Books

I go through binges of music, but some groups that have always stuck out for me are Wilco, The Beatles, Andrew Bird and Simon and Garfunkle. I could read The Great Gatsby every year until I die and be happy. The same go for watching Star Wars and Lord of the Rings.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my favorite travel stories happened on New Years eve, 2010 in Florence. Everybody and their brother was out on the streets laughing, singing, lighting fireworks dangerously too close to my feet, the works. It was so great to walk the streets with the Italians, make some new friends and enjoy the festivities. We were totally lost then we turned the corner and there's the Duomo in all it's glory. It was a great moment.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach some guitar or piano and a good deal of English, but I am an absolute sponge for information. Teach me a language, teach me your customs, teach me how to cook, teach me how to be a local. Share your music with me- that's one of my favorite joys in life is discovering new music :-)

Countries I’ve Visited

Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Uganda
