ABOUT ME
Hmmm, how to describe myself? I think if you'd ask my friends what would describe me the most, I would guess they would say it would be a sense of humour.
I would also add I'm very interested in the world, open to try new things and some other stuff.
But that's just me.
PHILOSOPHY
I got my adage from the Greek writer Herodotos and it goes like this: pan esti anthropos symphoré. (or something like it. It's ancient Greek, not the new kind)
"A person in his totality is vicissitude."
Do you get it? :-p
To me it means this: You gonna have some good days, you gonna have some bad. Experience the good days as best as you can and just weather out the bad ones, they will be followed by good ones.
I don't know if i got the quote right, but that's just how i see it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
For the moment mostly by going to some meetings, hosting some events and hosting local CS-ers who are too drunk to go home. :-D
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first CouchSurfing experience was when i went to a meeting in Budapest. I was immediately captured by how open en welcoming everybody was. From that moment on I wanted to be part of the community.
Interests
History, the future, the present.
Travel stories, cultural anecdotes, politics, ...
But basicly anything that makes me laugh or gives me a great time.
- writing
- politics
- traveling
- history
Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a big fan of comedy, especially British humour. Play some blackadder or monty python and you can keep me occupied for an entire day. Besides that I'm also a great fan the Simpsons, Family guy, and stand up comedians like Ricky Gervais, Chris Rock or George Carlin.
I love to read historical novels and non-fiction. I also used to be a big fan of a British comedy writer, but i forgot his name.
I listen to anything that's good. :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once travelled China practically on my own without a lot of preparation and without knowing 1 word of Chinese. Not only did I survive, I had the best vacation of my life just when i needed it most.
Teach, Learn, Share
I guess i could teach people not to take themself or life too serious. I'm pretty good at that myself.
Obviously when things are serious, it's serious. But a lot of the time it's not and we shouldn't make things more important than they are.
