About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm a fairly easy going, pleasant, non-odorific (friend's suggestion to include that), laid back kinda guy. Someone recently said if I were any more laid back, I'd be horizontal. I disagree. I also like to argue.

Self-description: You're looking for a short, handsome, brown man with a backpack that's taller than he is.

PHILOSOPHY

The Golden Rule?
Live life and treat others like you would like to be treated yourself.

Also, whatever you do, don't waste your time. Make every second count.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

[UPDATE NOV 2014 - Having just moved to a tiny house, I'm afraid I'm unable to host anyone at this time. Apologies guys]

I'm new to this project, and after speaking to friend, have decided to partake in this crazy but warmly optimistic and naively innocent and beautiful, trusting enterprise.

UPDATE 2: I've taken it upon myself to get at least 2 Couchsurfers who live in the same city together whenever I visit their town. Great way to make friends, and takes the pressure off meeting strange foreigners.

UPDATE: Having now tried Couchsurfing, I LOVE IT! It's a great way to meet lovely people and really get a feel for what its like to live in the city you're travelling to.

Also, I've got a pretty comfortable couch back home, which I'm happy to share with whoever needs a place to crash.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I went travelling round the states and met some INCREDIBLY kind and generous people through CS. This is such a great experience, I highly recommend it

Music, Movies, and Books

This could very easily become a long, long list, but I'll do 3 short sentences after this one.

Movies/Films - Anything that evokes a response, from comedy to drama to documentary, recent examples include Darren Aronofsky's work, Four Lions, Battle in Seattle and Food Inc.

Music - A bit of everything but really into more african/reggae beats and old school hip hop at the moment. Love UK Bass & EDM.

Books - Reading mostly non-fiction these days, have you read 'Three Cups of Tea'? That man has basically done what I want to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Not much to say here, I have no major claims to fame. I guess I've done some interesting things in my time, but I'll tell you all about them when I see you.

Teach, Learn, Share

What can I teach you? I dont really have any gems to give unfortunately, I guess I'm always busy trying to learn things that I forget I might know something that I can pass on to people.

Besides the golden rule, which i will repeat because its that important:

Live your life and treat people like you would like to be treated yourself

I suppose the other thing is, Smile more.
