About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Finish grad school, travel, meet old friends, make new friends - not necessarily in that order
ABOUT ME
I am in grad school, working as a teaching and research assistant on the side. I live in Claremont, a wonderful town 40 miles east of LA. I have been in Claremont for the past 3 years. Before moving to Claremont, I spent a year and a half in Las Vegas. Why Vegas, you ask? I was going to school there. Before Vegas, I was in Pakistan, an exotic locale on the other side of the world.
PHILOSOPHY
To live an examined, flourishing life, with a lot of help from my friends, family, and assorted loved ones, as well as caring strangers and acquaintances.
"To fight evil without the illusion that it is the greatest ever, to choose the lesser evil without the faith that it is surely the least evil, to endure darkness without the boast that none could be blacker, and to create more light without the comfort of excessive hopes â
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have couchsurfed a lot, usually at the houses of friends and family. Of course, anyone who lets me surf on their couch is, by definition, a friend! My one 'official' CouchSurfing experience was immensely positive and I look forward to more of the same.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like all sorts of music. Mostly, I listen to classic rock, folk, old country, and old-time. I really enjoy listening to live music, and have had the pleasure of seeing some of my favorite acts live. I hope to do more of that in the future.
I am an avid reader, and the books are too numerous to name. Generally, I like books on philosophy, economics, politics, and poetry.
