I'm calm and sensitive person and yet get very easily enthusiastic about new things. When I decide about something, nothing can turn my head (Taurus). I'm cheerful and easygoing and enjoy meeting new people, but deep inside I'm a typical Finn and sometimes love just being alone, especially in the nature. A citation from my childhood's diary says : "Dear diary, I want to travel around the world, because I want to know as many different cultures as possible." Still holds true! I never lost that deep curiosity in different ways of thinking and living.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have quite little surfing experience, but all the meetings have turned out wonderful. One of the hosts became a close friend of me and my partner and actually moved to Finland! Another couchsurfer from Northern Spain I met years later randomly in the biggest market place of Dakar, Senegal! You never know what the universe brings you with the people you meet - the connections you make might end up having amazing meanings.

Interests

I love getting into random conversations with genuine people and discovering something new of the world from/with them. My main interests are in different forms of art; especially music and dance are salt of my life. My heart booms for West African dance, which I learned while living in Senegal and Ghana.
I usually start a new hobby from time to time. Such hobbies have been capoeira, yoga, floorball, playing in different music groups...
In my way of living there's much polarity too: as an aesthete I love beautiful things such as traditional handicrafts, and I have a big collection of music instruments - but I'd like to live in a less materialistic way. As a hedonist I'm weak for good wine and food, but at my home, most of the food is vegetables planted by us or collected from the nature. I'm fanatic for different types of mushrooms, berries and plants! I'm also very keen on natural medicine.

I crossed Sahara on motorbike. So many charitable people, so much music learned, so many malarias cured, so many crazy things happened.... Stories that I gladly tell to my grandchildren one day.
