CURRENT MISSION:

I had planned to travel through Africa starting this December from Cape to Cairo.... However after I resigned from my job another com[any gave me an offer I could not refuse before I even had a chance to buy my airfare...

I accepted a job offer with this company with the condition to take time off next year for Africa... So it's back to the drawing board...

In the meantime I will spend some time in the Dominican Republic this December :)

Hi, my name is Sabi - I love to travel and I have had the opportunity to travel for some time.
I have been on this site for 10 years now. I absolutely love this site and what it stands for. I have met couchsurfers all over the world, at meetings and events. Basically wherever I have visited I have tried to get involved with couchsurfing... I have not however had the opportunity to surf or host... At least not yet :)

I have been lucky enough to have some pretty crazy adventures... I love meeting people, sharing experiences and learning from them :)

I love people, people of all types and all cultures... I love to learn about their experiences, their cultures and what drives them...

Basically I love this world, and the many different people that make it up...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have never couchsurfed but would love the experience. I have been meeting couchsurfers since 2007, whether at get-togethers at home or around the world....

All that have couchsurfed have only spoken good about it...

Interests

I love to travel, I love to read fiction and I love yoga....

I travel whenever I can, and lately I have had the opportunity to travel more often than usual. I found the next best teacher than travel, is to read fiction - with fiction we may not be travelling physically, but we are definitely travelling mentally :)

I read alot, I am always reading a book... I'm trying to read 1-2 books a week...

I do yoga every morning. My routine is 20 minutes of physical asanas (sun salutations), 20 minutes of meditation and 20 minutes of my spiritual readings...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitchhiked from Beijing to Shanghai... Last December I landed in Moscow with no plan, except that I intended to end up in China...
After I spent some time in Russia, I purchased my train tickets last minute and made my way across the country... When I was in Mongolia, as the train was passing through customs, I met another couchsurfer from Germany who was hitch-hiking to Australia..... After the train ended up in Beijing her plan would continue to Shanghai heading east... I told her I was also going to Shanghai, and I asked her if I could join her and she agreed...
Even though I had accommodations already set in Beijing and I had airfare to Shanghai, I knew this was a once in a lifetime opportunity and could not resist it.... I jumped on it and it was one of the best experiences in my live... No google maps, no google translate... No internet nor even google... :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't believe in teaching, I believe we are all students and will continue to be students because there will be always something to learn and something to share...

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my experiences... We are all going to the same place, the only difference is the journey...

I was born in India, and grew up in Canada.... I have seen some good times and bad... But I believe we must always look to the best in life, because for me that is all that can give life purpose :)
