Why I’m on Couchsurfing

How can one get to know the place they are visiting better than from the people living there. I'm interested in getting that inside perspective that makes traveling meaningful. I would like to meet people, hear their stories and get emerged into the local culture. I've been a tourist or business traveler to many places in Africa, Europe, Latin America and Asia. I've seen the inside of many hotels and AIRBNBs and I had great fun getting to know those places. Nothing will beat though the feeling of living like a local for a few days and I believe couchsurfing can offer that experience.
