About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Back packing
; gaining more work, life experience, creative inspiration & worldly wisdom

ABOUT ME

I am a very enthusiastic, inquisitive &^ open minded girl.. currently travelling and wanting to connect with people all around the world.

I really like music and art, and I have busked & hitch-hiked around NZ. I play the Djembe drum, and draw all the time...

And here is a link to an interview that me and my travelling companion did whilst in the south island of NZ;
http://www.inspirallmagazine.com/lifestyle/josh-and-sabra

I have put 'not accepting guests' at the moment, as I haven't got a fixed place of my own, but once I do I really want to open it up for fellow travelers to come & stay. I love community & want to give back to all of those awesome, open hearted people who have sheltered me & given me company along the way...

PHILOSOPHY:

Spiritual agnostic, living with an open heart & open mind

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couch surfed around Portugal for two and a bit weeks and couch surfed in England. And since being in NZ I have couch surfed on Waiheke island, and many other destinations along my journey on both the North & the South island; those who were kind enough to offer me a place to sleep & share their home. This continued when Josh and I started travelling together. We have slept in sheds, bungalows, retirement houses and many more!

Interests

Yoga, meditation, playing guitar, gardening, massage, writing poetry, reading, drawing, dance, the drum (debouka, tabla, djembe, etc) & travelling!

A poem I wrote:

My own words from the Karamea NZ, Rainbow Gathering;

I want to stand & stare,
& speak straight into the humble, human faces,
of my parents, brothers & sisters,
& drop the fully loaded shot gun
of my heart to the floor.
All broken, withered, and forlorn,
& tremble through glossy eyes, & frothy teeth,
"I don't want to kill you,
in truth, it's you, I needed closest the most,
all along".

Then with my wet, soggy clothes,
voyage on,
until my delicate, little feet are
bruised & beaten & blistered & torn,
& stinging like sharp, salty tears,
stabbing into an open womb,
through the height of the scorching heat,
scratching my fragile, flaking & sweaty worn skin,
& numbed by the thick midst of the dry, grassy plains
of the bleak,
until my blood and bones feel like they are wearing thin,
& my hope is weak,

over big boulders & through the tiny nuts and crannies
of the river valleys,
toward the highest mountain peak.

Just so I can get a glimpse of what it really feels like,
to touch the very, very, very, VERY top,
& drop,
to the only vibrating sound,
of my pounding, beating chest,
& heavy gasping for breath,
slowly surrendering, & bleeding into the still, & glorious
nude sky.

Until it sends dramatic sweeping strokes of yellows, pinks & reds,
descending down into the bottom of the bank of darkness,
so all I can see is the glittering lanterns, & hanging trinkets,
like a choir of fairy wings fluttering & blinking in the distance at me,
amidst the black, vibrant, transparency,
of this vast, open pupil, before me & holding my minds hand,
with a soft voice that teaches,
"you must die a nerve wracking, treacherous & tiresome death first,
in order to be reborn".

& gifts me seeds, nutrients & water,
diffusing down into the dry soils of the veins of my dreams,
& streaming roots down to cling and clench to the crust,
ready & waiting to shoot from the ground,
to make a cover of precious, white pestles upon this mound,
when the light begins to lift its lips
& kiss the Earth of soul,
at dawn.
