Since deciding to up and move to Spain for 7 months in 2016, I haven't been able to get the travel bug out of my system! I lived in Spain January through July of that year and also traveled around Europe during my stay. I first studied Spanish in Valencia for four months and eventually ventured over to Barcelona where I was an au pair for the summer. After returning to the U.S. to finish up my last year in university, studying to be a teacher, I decided to come back to Spain to teach English. I now live and work in Spain and have a constant desire to see and experience new parts of the world!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love using CS as a form of more authentic traveling than just the typical tourist experience, as well as making friends around the world! The whole idea of CS is so incredibly cool to me; it offers you a way to experience places and cultures in ways you wouldn't be able to by just staying in a hotel for a few nights and going around to a few tourist attractions before leaving. In fact, some of the best memories I've made while traveling have been while couch surfing. I'm on CS to explore cities in more intimate ways and meet cool people around the world!

Although I can't currently host (constantly moving around and living with other people), I definitely plan to do so in the future. This way I'll get to live vicariously through the travels of those I host and continue being a part of the wonderful CS community!

Interests

I love traveling to lots of places, eating lots of food, drinking lots of alcohol, and meeting lots of people :)

Some of my more specific interests include walking down new streets, playing addictive games on my phone, planning trips and events, swimming (especially in the ocean), listening to interesting stories, watching Netflix, going to movie theaters (especially drive-ins), laughing at memes on the internet, listening to music (of course), shopping, being outside, and the rest you'll have to figure out in person!

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to most types of music from all around the world, but a few of my favorite artists and bands include Hozier, Frank Ocean, Daniel Caesar, Rosalia, Nathy Peluso, Mabel, Carminho, Pablo Alborán, and so much more! I love music that can make me want to dance and music with lyrics that make me think.

I tend to like movies about travel and adventure, romantic comedies, sci-fi movies, documentaries, and horror/suspense movies. One of my all-time favorites is The Secret Life of Walter Mitty!

I don't really read much because I'm a really slow reader and get distracted way too easily haha. But when I do read, it's typically books about travel or dystopian societies (The Hunger Games, Divergent, etc.). My favorite book hands-down is Cheryl Strayed's "Wild." Best book I've ever read. I also absolutely love Rupi Kaur's "Milk and Honey."
