Overview
About Me
A book with a cup of tea or coffee compose my day.
I'm from Taiwan and major in foreign languages and literatures. So you can understand how much I love learning new languages, reading different kinds of books and discussing many deep or difficult topics with people :-P
I'm currently living in Belgium as an exchange student participating at the Université de Mons, focusing on global economics and marketing.
I'm a 22 year-old girl who loves laughing and crying a lot haha. I can laugh so hard even it's just a spontaneous feeling and I can also tear simply by watching a cartoon or reading a book. I cried a lot when watching almost all the Disney or Pixar's movies, you name it. I consider myself the kind of person who tends to express my feelings directly and I embrace the idea that we shouldn't be afraid of how people think of us, but always stay true to ourselves.
PHILOSOPHY
Carpe Diem.
We never know what will happen in the next second, so living my life to the fullest and embrace every moment is what I'm doing right now. Tinker with shit, travel, explore, take risks. Love a lot, love a little, and never touch the ground. Just be who you are, say what you feel and enjoy every moment of your life, because those are what make you so special :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Cultures, Adventures, Stories
I consider "people" as the most beautiful thing of traveling. I admit that places one goes to is important, but what really touches my heart is the story of the people I meet while traveling. I love sharing stories, life experiences with people from different countries or with different perspectives. Also, I'm a huge fan of languages haha, I always feel thrilled when I listen to languages I don't understand; because it reminds me that there are still too many wonderful things for me to explore, learn and embrace!
So, surprise me or make me touched by your stories!
Interests
Reading, reading, reading!
I can't live without reading. I also love music, movies, cooking, writing and traveling.
Reading is my spiritual food. (I know that streetwise is important as well, but I think I'm probably much more bookwise orientated :p) Personally I don't have a preference for particular kinds of book. I enjoy reading all kinds of them and one of my dreams is to own a second-hand bookstore combined with a café!
When I was in Taiwan, I always spent much time on playing the music instruments (Piano, flute, drums & a little bit of guitar). I've learned playing music since I was 4 and this is also why I love music so much. For me, music is the common language among the world and it gives life to every moment.
The place where I studied in Taiwan has an amazing cinema which has very cheap price that you can watch literally all movies you want. I always like to go there on my own during the weekend and enjoy the moment with myself.
I LOVE cooking and one of my dreams is to at least know how to cook a typical dishes of every country! I remember that since I was 8, I'd stand beside my mom when she's cooking in the kitchen. My mom's the one who made me realize how food can influence people's life. She said that food is not only to satisfy human's physical needs but also connect people when they're eating together. If you also like to cook, I can teach you some typical Taiwanese food that I often make even now studying in Belgium.
I think one of the reasons makes me like to write is because I love reading. To me, words are also like music, they strengthen you. However, words are something much intimate.
I started writing when I was 10 and I started it with writing diaries. I write in many forms, even 'til now, I still write everyday. I particularly love to write letters and short poems! Writing letters to my friends and family makes me feel connected with them and life, especially when technology has become the mainstream nowadays (which is quite sad in a way). If you read carefully through my profile, you might notice that I'm the kind of person who really likes to spend time with myself. I mean, I also love to make new friends (that's why I'm on couchsurfing), but I understand that a silent moment with oneself is necessary because that's the moment which makes you understand more about yourself. And for me, writing is the moment :)

Music, Movies, and Books
I don't really have a specific preference for music, but what I listen the most is funk, jazz, classical and rock music.
If you also adore funk music, i strongly recommend you Cosmos People; it's a local band in Taiwan. Though they sing in Mandarin, their music are just amazing!
Oh and, John Mayer and Jason Mraz are also my favorite!
There're too many movies and books that I like, meet me and I'll share the list with you :-P
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Had been homeschooled for 9 years.
I didn't go to school until I was 18. This story can be told for 3 whole days. So many beautiful memories and I'm pretty sure this is the best thing that I've done so far in my life.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook typical Taiwanese food for you and even teach you how to cook them if you like to! Apart from the interests I mentioned above, I also like topics related to international affairs, politics, and cultures, so we can discuss either of them and of course, the experience of traveling!
Well, we can also see what else we can do together!
