Overview
About Me
I grew up in a small town in northwest Italy. Hills, vineyards and the surrounding Alps were the background of my youth. It always feels like something is missing when I live in places where I can’t see mountains around. I first realised it during my Erasmus but in Lisbon the absence of peaks was more than offset by the view over the Tagus river from my window. I majored in Business and Economics and I wouldn’t do it again but, as Lady Macbeth wisely said: “What’s done is done”. My ever recurring words are: “I don’t know” and maybe that’s why I am so curious about everything. In my twenties I realised travelling was the best school and after graduating I volunteered for an environmental organization in Iceland, helped building a sustainable camp in Senegal, volunteered with children in Brazil, worked for an ngo in Ethiopia and as a waitress in the Alps and in the fiords of Iceland. Met a lot of truly awesome people on my way and realised I was even clueless, not because I didn’t learn a lot, but because I found out there’s so much out there. On the verge of turning thirty I thought was time to “get serious” and I got a full-time job in Bologna as editor. I tried. After 2 years and a half I resigned, packed my backpack and now I am travelling through South America.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love the idea that Couchsurfers are a big community of people sharing the same values of hospitality and trust.
Couchsurfing allows me to dive in headfirst into another culture and to meet open minded people. And of course also helps to stay on budget!
