Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I hosted for my first time... how wonderful it was to give back. ive also surfed once. so in other words, im a CS newbie, but definitely enjoyed meeting CSers while traveling and open to surfing/hosting in the future:)
Interests
i am really interested in learning from people from various cultures on their outlooks on life, i am interested in global politics and social activism efforts. i studied economics and will be pursuing globalisation and development studies in the UK this fall. my regional interest in south asia because that is where my family is from, and i just spent this past summer traveling to Indonesia, Nepal, the Maldives, Thailand and korea

Music, Movies, and Books
so broad.. not sure how I can answer this :)
MOVIES - i tend to like movies that serve as social commentary like a clockwork orange, American beauty, city of god, slumdog millionaire, samsara, etc... i also watch a ton of Bollywood movies
for music, i generally like hip hop, dancehall, reggae, and indie.. some artists include mos def, atmosphere, common, hieroglyphics, konshens, busy signal, jahmiel, popcaan, vybz, the shins, modest mouse, rilo kiley, tegan and sara, etc etc... i would LOVE to be exposed to the music scenes in london :)
books... i read lots of geopolitical books that relate to my interest in politics... but i also read an assortment of other books. right now im reading White teeth by zadie smith (its about london, of course), dambisa moyo's dead aid book and Bless Me Ultima (a friend gave it to me). i was also gifted some OSHO books while traveling so also working on those. i love to read! but sadly don't spend enough time doing it... always behind :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
leaving my job and traveling in south east asia for six months, going to pakistan for the first time and reuniting with some "long-lost" family... :)
Teach, Learn, Share
hmmm.... not sure what i can teach, will have to think about that :)
