About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Feed people. Do in order to be.

ABOUT ME

oh dear, goodness knows. friendly, decent cook, I really love to laugh. I've spent the last few summers living in the woods of Virginia. First, as a rock climbing instructor, and this past year solo hiking through 4 different states.
Peanut butter is great straight from a spoon. (crunchy)
I'd rather be outside or by a window.
Body paint is cool. I don't get cold very easily. My friends constantly amaze me at how awesome they are. I'm a fan of anyone who would burst into song randomly. I once accidentally bartered for scarf at the Marseille flea market. I will drink coffee at nearly every chance possible.
Gestalt is a really awesome concept.

PHILOSOPHY

Still in progress. And at the moment it centers around trying new things, recreating the atmosphere of a shared meal in as many places as possible. Never stop learning from others. Share what I have learned somehow.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Not quite sure yet.
I'd love to cook and share a meal, be as involved or not as time makes for.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted people (kindof) via my old housemate who had wonderful experiences surfing. And it always made things more interesting.

Interests

gardening/farmwork/cooking, finding the perfect coffeeshop, taking lots and lots of photos, book projects, teaching kids to be who they are, trying to speak French, all the while hanging out with friends or making new ones in the process

Music, Movies, and Books

I LOVE MOVIES, AND MUSIC, AND BOOKS.

But really, while on hiatus from school, I'm working on reading for fun, not because I'm being told to. And it is wonderful. Recently I've asked friends and bibliophiles that I know to send me the cheapest, used copy of a book that is important to them. Part of the request is that they write the reason in front. Steinbeck is first on that stack.

Music is good, especially live.
Movies are great. I really like mystery thrillers and musicals. And pretty much everything else.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've lead rock climbing trips for a camp in Virginia. One past year, my 4th of July was spent on the top of Stony Man Mountain in Shenandoah National Park. Our trips normally head up to the summit to see the sunset, but we stuck around to hopefully see the Luray fireworks show. Around 9:00, we started to see tiny sparks down in the valley and eventually we were surprised with more and more lights shows popping up down below. Seeing 13 different little towns light up and dwindle was beautiful.

Teach, Learn, Share

Everyone has something to teach. And it may depend on who is doing the learning.

I'll work on this part...

What I Can Share with Hosts
