About Me

CURRENT MISSION

travelling the country, playing life

ABOUT ME

just your typical suburban kid who thinks there's more to life and happiness than making money and babies. I was on that track, but my train got a bit derailed after college when I started river guiding. After 2 years seasonal, I some how wound up back in PA for grad school. Now I have a house that I'm renovating, and a dog that I love just as much as outdoor adventure, and I take her with me almost everywhere.

Things I love: river running (preferably class IV or higher), rafts or kayaks or anything that floats will do; jumping from high places; anything with lots of snow- skiing, boarding, snowshoeing, sledding, snowmobiling, just looking at it; my family; sushi; thai food; good people; live music; dancing; finding pretty places- water, trees, sunshine, rocks.

Things I am dyyying to do: kite surfing; get better at surfing; backpacking; harder mountaineering.

PHILOSOPHY

live simply, be happy, keep exploring.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surf and host surfees. F hotels (Excuse my harse letters).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

after being saved from a homeless cold rainy night by a couchsurfer in shining armor, i've surfed regularly and taken them in whenever me and my hot roommie can accomodate.

Interests

Love love playing outside. I'm a water baby so anything ocean, whitewater swimming and kayaking. I can also be super lazy and sit around, watch a movie, read a book. Everything's better with family and friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

It varies.....i like good, almost cheesy messages from movies and books- like "Life as a House," Where the Red Fern Grows, The Alchemist, like laughing- "Spaceballs," "Dude Where's my Car," and some actual cinematic movie movies, like "Lord of the Rings" even though I probably don't appreciate it for all it is. Music, umm- Jack Johnson, Michale Franti, Chili Peppers, Matchbox20, Billy Joel, REM, Simon and Garfunkel, Steve Winwood.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Instead of going to my parents' house like I had planned, I bumped into these guys, and I kayak-guided them down the upper gauley as they paddled a $30 Kmart raft. We were the only ones out there. It was a bit epic; we didn't make it off til after dark.
There's nothing better than uncharted wild fun with genuine people.

Teach, Learn, Share

Humans are a social animal by nature. We only rob ourselves of opportunity and experience when we live in fear, and refuse to interact with others around us.

The purpose of life is to be happy, do what we're passionate about, and share the positive energy. It's as simple as that :-)
