About Me

I am a 28-year-old freelance graphic designer who ditched my job, rented out my home and hit the road with my husband, Mark. Been travelling full-time for almost two years now and that travel-bug just isn't going away...

If you want to know more or meet up please just drop me a message, or if you want to do a bit of stalking, we are keeping a typically self indulgent travel blog: https://alovelytimeblog.wordpress.com

Currently travelling around Europe until Christmas.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Although I love a cheeky hostel from time to time - met so many great people that way - I have reached a point where I would always rather stay with an actual local, someone who wants to share what they love about their town and in return I can do the same. It's the people that make a place, after all.

- We are planning to host as soon as we are back in the Sheffield, UK and in our own home :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - Raised on classic rock, but I love most genres. Always interested in hearing new music.

Films - Bit of a film geek to be honest, so I really can't choose any favourites.

Books - Travel/History/Fantasy/Fiction and the occasional awful chick lit. My go-to comfort reading is anything by Bill Bryson or Neil Gaiman.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed Mount Kilimanjaro with my fiance, Mark, in 2012.

Worked 2 jobs (casual 60 hour week, every week) for 2 years, along with freelance work and acting as a landlord for two properties, while saving for our travels. It was a killer, but so worth it.

Quit life and went travelling :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm working as a freelance Graphic Designer on the road, so if there is anything I can help with I'm more than happy to help/teach.

Also worked in customer service for years - I genuinely enjoy tidying and love to cook.

Really enjoy getting to learn about a new culture first-hand.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love cooking, I'm super clean (seriously - I'll be your maid for the week for a free sofa!) and pretty happy doing anything. Love a good party but also very happy to chill at home, read, watch a film and generally hang out.
