About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Work our what to do with my life?!

ABOUT ME

I am relaxed kind of guy who doesn't take himself too seriously. I'm good fun and friendly and like meeting new people! I am driven when I am at work and I'm always looking at ways to get on on do things. Out of work, I love travel and trying new things - so suggest doing something different and I'm always there front of the queue!! I like sports and always like an active part to anything I do. Also love just people watching....there's always something different about the next person you see which fascinates me. I've done a round the world trip before (about 4 years ago) doing the SE Asia, Oz, NZ, pacific route. Have also done a fair bit of Europe - most recently doing the Balkans in June last year. I did a 14 month trip through South America, Australia, NZ, India, Sri Lanka and South Africa last year...frickin' awesome!

So I am now back home in little old Colchester and making do with shorter trips...this has opened my eyes to the beauty of the UK and Ireland...get out there people, we have some amazing places!

PHILOSOPHY

Appreciate what has happened in the past and learn from it, but look forward and take control of your life. Never think 'I can't do...' because there's nearly always a way if really want to do something. Travel is a great way to broaden experience and really understand different people and what makes this world so special.

Treat other people as you would like to be treated yourself. Respect people and their way of life. Have fun!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

People have been very kind to let me stay in many far flung places, so I would be very happy to meet people coming to Colchester.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In Germany when we travelled round for the World Cup we stayed with local people all round- everyone was so friendly and welcoming!

In the Caribbean, again met some great people and had a fantastic local experience of a great laidback part of the world.

Interests

Love sport - I'm a Liverpool FC fan and I also follow cricket a bit.

Music is a passion of mine, and all varieties.

I also love meeting new people! There's something different about everyone you meet and everyone has a story to tell, so keep your ears open to listen. As my Mum would say, 'you have two ears and one mouth'!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The bus journey from Louang Prabang to Vientiane in Laos...sitting opposite a local guy with an AK47 apparently protection against the guerilla bandits who frequently burned buses on that route - the remains of one of which we saw...was I glad to get off that bus!!
