Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Two (+1) main reasons why I'm on Couchsurfing:

Firstly, I love to explore places beyond just being a tourist. Visiting friends in new environments and getting the history, lowdown of certain areas and traiditons is such a great experience and I'm hoping that Couchsurfing can provide similar experiences!

Secondly, I love meeting people abroad! Talking with strangers, learning about different perspectives and getting to know people is a big priority while travelling and this seems like the perfect place to meet locals and other travellers!

The plus one reason is a bit selfish: I don't have a tonne of cash to travel so I try to save costs whenever I can. Travelling in off-peak seasons, limiting money to experiences etc. I think Couchsurfing can help keep costs down for accomodation, opening up new places for me to travel to on a budget

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite books are mostly non-fiction and look at history, culture and philosophy. Specifically, books that cover these topics in a more narrative-based writing style! My favourite book in recent memory is How the World Thinks by Julian Baggini.

When it comes to fiction, I like stories that explore human character in difficult situations or have grander narratives at play, like Dune or Three Body Problem.

Music-wise, my taste boils down into three categories: jazz, funk and rap! Salsa and psychedelic-ish music rounds of the top 5.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I haven't done the amazing thing in here (yet) but will spend a life trying to fill this box with several things!
