helloooooooo, I'm Saff, from Somerset in England. I am currently on a 6 month trip with my very lovely boyfriend Siôn who is from South Wales. We are travelling mostly in Mexico and the US until the end of August. I’m a primary school back at home teacher (which I love, but it’s really hard) and Siôn makes films. I really like birdwatching, wildlife, walks, cooking, but also lying down to watch telly when the time is right. We both enjoy long cycle rides (we cycled to Paris from the UK a few years ago) and chatting to people we meet. We are both quite interested in politics and current affairs so we’ll love to hear about what’s going on in your area.

We are both vaccinated with boosters against covid and we make sure we’re respectful of navigating covid type issues while we travel around.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like meeting new people and it’s a really nice way to get to know parts of a place you wouldn’t be able to find through regular travelling or staying at a hotel. I think sometimes tourism can have a bad impact on local populations, so it’s nice to take part in a cultural exchange to mediate that a bit.

I’ve couch surfed a little bit before but not loads. I’ve done it in France and Norway. But having said that I’ve hitch hiked around Europe a bit and often ended up staying with the people who gave me a lift which is basically couch surfing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

AMAZING FOOD (I am a really good cook I promise, although I will never cook meat and rarely dairy/eggs). If we went for a walk or hike I would probably be able to help you ID some of the plants and birds we see, but depends on how familiar I am with stuff in that area. So please teach me!
