About Me
Currently I am a wanderer, seeking to learn as much as I can about different cultures. And how very fortunate I am able to do so! I left the US in 2015 to become a US Peace Corps Volunteer for two years in Uganda and have been traveling ever since. I have experienced the most amazing hospitality and cultures on a level I never knew possible. I am constantly overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness of people from every corner of this beautiful planet.
I am a lover of nature, from seaside to mountaintop and everything in between. I enjoy exploring the cities but I'd much rather be in the countryside. I am passionate about organic agriculture/permaculture. I prefer to live a simple life and one day hope to have my own property where I can live sustainably and in sync with Mother Nature.
I am traveling with the best friend a wanderer could have, a small dog named Big Boy "BB". He is the best adventure pup who gets as excited about new places as I do. He's never met another dog he couldn't charm into some playtime. He's a bit shy of humans but if you give him time to get used to your scent he will allow you into his personal space. We are eagerly awaiting our first cat friend. He became very close with one host's cat, they were just beginning curious play when it was time for us to leave. He's been my full-time travel companion since he was 2 months old. At 3+ years he has visited more than 12 countries already. He doesn't really care where we are, as long we are together. I feel just the same!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love folk music. Even before I left the US I always listened to Bluegrass, Americana, and old school Country (before the industry turned it into a money-maker instead of music-maker genre). In my travels I have loved to experience the folk music of each country I visit. One of my top experiences in 5 years of travels was the Rainforest World Music Festival in Malaysian Borneo where they brought together music from all over the world. It was truly an amazing weekend of music, instruments, and people.
I love to binge watch TV series, mostly sci-fi, dystopian or historical.
I enjoy to read historical fiction and dystopian futuristic novels.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I started traveling in 2017 with a goal of 6 months. Well, it's been a bit more than that... I have met so many amazing people! I have been fortunate to stay with many people through both Couchsurfing and Workaway where I have been gifted the most beautiful experiences. This is an amazing world in which we live, inhabited by people who are more similar than they are different. For me traveling has become much more about the connections than the places. Yes, the world is beautiful but the people that inhabit it are the most intriguing resource of all.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am always game to learn new dishes in the kitchen and/or share my own culinary knowledge. I love talking about all the beauty I've seen in the world and hearing about others' experiences exploring. I believe we are each an ambassador of our culture and strive to share in a responsible way. The more I travel the more I am amazed to learn/see that we are all so similar even in our differences.
