About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Discovering the world ...

ABOUT ME

After finishing med school by the end of 2013 while travelling the world for a whole year (oh yes that was the best idea we’ve ever had!) I started working as a trainee doctor in the hospital in Bludenz (Vorarlberg) in Jan 2014. Although there’s always much to do I try to take care that there is enough time for the joyful things in life. I’m very active, love to move and being out in nature whenever possible. Well, lazy afternoons as couch potato feel good as well sometimes I have to say ;) I am open for spontaneous ideas and activities, best involving lots of different people from lots of different places all over the world. A positive attitude towards life and its challenges makes everything possible and more joyful!
We just came back from our 3-months-honeymoon trip to South America, another exciting adventure! We're keen on stepping out of the all day life and see the world once more...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I participated on CS with surfing different couches, sofas, beds, floors all over the world and meeting all sorts of inspiring people from around this wonderful planet. It was the best experience and the ideal way of travelling!! Now I have the possibility to give back all the spirit, hospitability and generosity I experienced while surfing and spending time with such a variety of people in so many different countries. I’m curious which kind of surfers will come around Bludenz/Vorarlberg. Definitely keen on hosting them if possible!
Staying with me also means staying with my boyfriend Tobi (click on his name to see his profile), a wonderful young man whom I met in med school a couple of years ago. We started working in the hospital in Bludenz this year and live together in of the most beautiful areas of Bludenz with an awesome view. Don’t miss this one ;)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started CS in summer 2012 and only had wonderful experiences so far. Meeting local people is the best way to travel! It seems like as a CS friend likes to say "Cs is too good to be true - and yet it is true!"

Interests

I'm fond of doing team sports. I've spend my last 10 years as captain of my volleyballteam, playing in the second national league of Austria. Furthermore I go skiing or snowboarding, mountain biking, running, canyoning,...whenever possible - best accompanied by lots of friends. I love being out in the nature (Western Austria is the perfect place for this), especially new and unknown nature, just waiting to be discovered. I like travelling and I'm looking forward for the next big trip we'll make!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelling the world together with my love Tobi!!
Marrying Tobi and surviving a 3-months honeymoon trip to South America ;)
Working in a bush hospital in Cameroon for 3 months.
Travelling to Ethiopia with my little Ethiopian cousins (both adopted and living in Austria), where we met the whole original family of one of them. One of my most emotional travel experiences so far...
Experiencing the northern lights in finish Lapland.
Finishing a half marathon in Hall in personal best time.
Jumping and sliding down waterfalls in Corsica.
Moutainbike tour through the Karwendelgebirge, over 100km and almost 2000 metres elevation gain in one day.
Being able to do all the sports I love again after recovering from my knee injury for about a year.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, if you are interested in sports I can teach you how to play volleyball, take you on a mountainbike tour, show you how to ski or snowboard if you come in winter... I can show you what it means living in Austria, living between mountains, teach you funny Austrian slang words which even Germans don't understand and all the stuff there is to exchange.
