About Me

My boyfriend Tom and I are currently on an overland mission from Saigon, Vietnam, to London, UK. We want to experience life and culture in all the countries we visit, and hope to be able to couch surf as much as possible so that we can meet local people, make friends and share stories.
We have been living in Saigon for 18months where we were working as teachers. We hosted many people in Saigon and loved every one of those experiences!
We are both outgoing people who are curious about the world and we love meeting new people. We also love being in nature, hiking, kayaking, swimming, relaxing... The lack of nature in Saigon is one of the reasons we decided we couldn't live there any longer. We like visiting large cities, but are not city dwellers we have found out.
We are quite relaxed people who like to go with the flow and don't plan things too far in advance - we like to see what happens, and especially when traveling, see how we feel about a place before we plan to move on. We generally like to take our time when traveling, to get to know a place, but also for this trip we know we don't have a huge amount of time (just 6months this time) so some places we will have to travel through faster than we would like!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people, learn new things and see new places. I signed up for couch surfing about 7 years ago when a friend and I hitchhiked from London to Morocco. We stayed with some awesome people we met on couch surfing and since then I always wanted to give back and host people as well.
We were lucky enough to have the opportunity to host many amazing people in Saigon - now we are back on the road, hoping to meet new friends and travelers again. When we are back in NZ our couch will definitely be on offer again.
