Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To have those visiting Australia enjoy the Gold Coast like we do daily.
ABOUT ME
Sahlee was raised in the Philippines & lived & worked in Papua New Guinea & USA.
Fred was reared in Japan but spent most of his adult life living in Europe.
Both of us came together in Papua New Guinea and we consider Australia the springboard for forays into the South Pacific.
We live directly on the seashore and our main guest room overlooks the water.
PHILOSOPHY
there are three keys to a successful and fruitful life:
1) Good health (physical and mental)
2) Good education (formal and informal)
3) Freedom
If you have the above - the World is yours.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We host interesting multicultural people who have inordinate culinary prowess.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We have been hosting others from around the World all over the World. One guest came to Papua New Guinea for a month. Most people passing through the Gold Coast we take to Surfers Paradise, to Tambourine Mountain, swimming or even on a pub crawl (Wed. & Sat. only).
We value guests who have some unique culinary prowess. We also cherish guest(s) who speak and understand more than one language.
Daniel from in (Jan 9th-11th)
Interests
We like good, fresh food. We enjoy grilling and walks along the coastline where we grill out or swim whilst on walks.
We travel internationally at least two times per year to different destinations. We are both avid Scuba divers and Fred is a specialised teaching instructor.

Music, Movies, and Books
Rock, Jazz, some Blues, easy listening.
The Economist and the Singapore Straits Times are excellent publications.
Der Spiegel is the best weekly magazine in Europe.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Fred circumvents the Globe each year and has since 2001. We invariably travel to a new country each year.
This year it was Myanmar and Scotland.
Teach, Learn, Share
We can share what life is like in Australia from the perspective of landed immigrants from the General Skilled Migration Programme.
If you like the water, water sports, etc - we have it all from Scuba to Surfing to Water Parks, etc.
