About Me

CURRENT MISSION

not running away from reality

ABOUT ME

i was a typical normal KOREAN. after graduating from the university, i entered a company. i worked crazily hard, dreaming of success. i was quite hyperactive and materialistic, but the result was not that good. i put my failure to my parents, ex-lovers, bosses, but not to myself.
while working in the same company for 20 years, i couldn't take care of my own life at all. literally, i didn't know who i was.
i decided to quit the company. i walked on camino in spain in 2010. it influenced me a lot.
---------
i saw a new world. and i intended to share what i experienced there, like unconditional help or favor.
the way i explained it was quite radical and finally, i exploded. the doctor diagnosed my explosion as bipolar disorder. so i got hospitalized 3 times in 2011.
---------
after i got out of hospital, i didn't feel like working. and luckily, some people helped me for more than 3 years, so i could live my own life without working.
---------
i began to work again from this march. i've found i'm getting slowly stressed and exhausted.
i've learned how to deal with my small world for 3 years, but the real world was too big and it had so many variables i couldn't control. i couldn't be irresponsible, picky and lazy, which were my own nature.

=========
so i decided to stop hosting for a while except several guests whom i already promised to host.
i need to travel inside at the moment. hope to see you soon.

PHILOSOPHY

I liked this quotation before.
"Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die tomorrow."
But these days, I think this can be another press or obsession. I really want to learn how to enjoy a lazy day, doing nothing.
And I'm trying not to leave my trace behind. It's really difficult. To do that, I have to fight with myself who continuously wants to be 'somebody', exactly the opposite.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

on my way to santiago, i totally relied on strangers who had had nothing to do with me before. it was an amazing experience. now i want to reward them to share the same experience with another strangers and that's why i joined here to be a host.

plus, i'm always dreaming travelling. to meet you and the world, i'm going to go to your couch near in the future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i think everybody is different from each other. but when we have a really close relationship, we often forget it, taking everything for granted. and later we feel betrayed.
couchsurfing teaches us how to respect each other. how can you be so kind and polite to the strangers while not that kind to your own family? so it gives us mirrors.
-------
(i don't feel like looking at my ugly face and that's why i stop hosting temporarily.)

Interests

I'm interested in many things like travelling, environmental movement, cultural event, meditating, social justice, religion, nature, universe, eastern Asia, people and drinking.
In brief, I'm interested in almost everything around me in which I couldn't have been interested for nearly 20 years.
but i'm lazy enough. means no action with my intereats. +_+
