About Me

Hello! My name is Saile, I'm 24 years old, I am Brazilian...

I consider myself to be an honest, sincere, open-minded, easy going, fun, quick learner, caring, loyal, responsible and grateful person... Among my favorite hobbies are reading, watching movies / series, driving, traveling, photography, swimming, hiking, biking, cooking, learning new languages, etc.

In 2016 I graduated in Interdisciplinary Bachelor in Humanities at Federal University of Bahia. After I graduated I decided I would go for something different in my life, and I left my country to live in The Netherlands as an au pair for a year. I decided do that because it was always my dream to go travel around the world and learn about other languages and cultures and meet new people. And that's what I did during my year there! I learned some dutch, met new amazing people there and around Europe, visited a lot of countries and cities, learned about new cultures, ate different foods and it was one of the best times of my life!

In august 2017 I went back to Brazil and I decided to go to USA as an aupair, again, and there I was taking care of two young teenagers, and learning more about the American culture and improving more and more my English.

Now I am back do Brazil and hoping to continue to fulfill my journey and my purpose of LEARNING, about cultures, languages, people, new skills, I am here with the couchsurfing community, ready to go somewhere new, and give my self and do my best to help others, and SHARE!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am here because I would like to take the most of my travel experiences, staying with someone who has a different culture, language, hobbies/skills and learning what I can from them. Of course sharing about my culture and language as well, in a real exchange of knowledge and experiences. :)

Interests

Among my favorite hobbies are reading, watching movies / series, driving, traveling, photography, swimming, hiking, biking, cooking, learning new languages, etc. There are some hobbies/skills that I still do not have the ability but I would like to learn, such as gardening, archery, target shooting, carpentry, drumming, rock climbing, ... I am hopeful that the future experiences with couchsurfing will allow me to learn 2 or 3 (or more) of these things, and also new skills that are not listed.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like to listen all kinds of musics, from classic to metal, from brazilian axe to k-pop.

I love read books and watch movies/series, specially sci-fy and fantasy.
One of my favorite books is Into the wild...

I am really geek and a big fan of Harry Potter, Star Wars, Lord of the rings etc hahaha :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am not sure what an amazing thing would exactly be, but I guess my first trip without an 'adult' taking care of me fits. It was a trip with more 3 girlfriends in 2014, we went to spend 20 days traveling around USA, we visited Houston TX, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego CA, New Orleans LA and Miami FL, was an amazing trip with only us to prepare everything from airplane, bus tickets, hostels, what to do, etc. :)

Last year I made a trip to Croacia with friends, and visited one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen, the Plitvce Lakes National Park, it's so amazing, almost magical. I'll go there again for sure in the future with more time to explore all park.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am more than happy and excited to share with you about my culture and language and I hope I can get to learn about yours too!

As said before there are some hobbies/skills that I still do not have the ability but I would like to learn, such as gardening, archery, target shooting, carpentry, drumming, rock climbing, new cooking recipes... I am hopeful that the future experiences with couchsurfing will allow me to learn 2 or 3 (or more) of these things, and also new skills not listed that people I might come across with could teach me perhaps :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can't say I am the most skilled and talented person, but I might be able to share a few things with my hosts!

As I am brazilian, and I speak portuguese, it would be great to share everything you want to know about my culture (food, music, art, history, places to visit) and I can teach you my language.

I also know how to speak english (not an expert though), some spanish, some italian, I could try to teach you a few thing about those languages too haha

I can also share tips, about the places I've lived (Brazil, Netherlands, USA), and the places I have been traveling.

I can somewhat cook, so I can cook one or two recipes if you're interested :)
