About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Remember everything I knew when I was six:)

ABOUT ME

Early in 2008 I decided to change my life...10 days later I was on a plane to Mexico having sold/given away everything I owned. I have been enjoying the most amazing adventures since. Much of my travels have been sailing, my new passion. But I tend to like to travel slowly, really dig into a place and see what it is all about. I rarely make plans anymore because I am not creative enough to even think of the adventures that just happen when I stop trying to control things.

PHILOSOPHY

Hmmm, have you ever read Desiderata? That might sum it up.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

* UPDATE: I am back in the USA and bought a car for a big road trip. Seattle to...maybe New Orleans? But first the west coast. My car will be my main "home" but I would love to meet some great people from my own country. Show me around?

I have just purchased an Ausrail Pass and am hoping to see as much of this beautiful country as I can. But the countryside, and wildlife are only half of the story. I would really like to get to know people and see the places I travel from their perspective. Nothing is better than local knowledge. And maybe I can cook you a meal?
* I did this train trip and it was great. Three CS experiences and two friends for life:)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Met my bestest friend couchsurfing :)

Interests

Sailing, caring for animals, food (preparing and eating), new experiences like kite surfing or the flying trapeze, creating special moments with people, live music and dancing, giggling, playing games, learning about everything scientific, and discussing anything late into the night except maybe religion and politics. While not exhaustive it is a start:)

Music, Movies, and Books

All likely to change with my mood and company. But never anything too violent or vulgar.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I swam with over one hundred whale sharks once in Mexico. That was amazing! And this summer I white water rafted the Colorado River. 18 days down the Grand Canyon. Incredible!

Teach, Learn, Share

Food. I am always happy to teach and learn on the subject. Nutrition and seasonal sustainable eating are also interests.
