Hi there! My name's Dani and I'm from Barcelona. I live in the peaceful, sunny and beatiful town of La Ràpita, in souther Catalonia.

I'm journalist, and I work for a local TV as reporter and news presenter. I also usually write on newspapers. Despite I'm focus on the local information, I always keep myself aware of what's going on around the world.

I also have worked many years as waiter and bartender in quite unique places: a wooden platform inside the sea, a spanish tapas reaturant in London and a restaurant in front of Gaudí's famous Casa Batlló in Barcelona.

In terms of sharing a room/flat, I'm polite and respectful and very clean and tidy with my stuff (and with other's, of course!). I'm also a good cook, so if you let me, I can try to cook a paella for you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to get started in couchsurfing to meet local people in my travels. People who can show me where to go, to eat, to see... I'm not interested in the crowded "must see places".

I'm also against the touristic industry, which is sweeping out the local people from cities like Barcelona. Other travelers plataforms (you know what I'm talking about) are very harmful for local people beacuse they are raising the rental prices and bringing real state speculators.

Let's just travel, not doing business.

Interests

I'm interested in what's happening on the places I visit. I like to read their newspapers and watching their news. But I'm also like to hear from the people what they do, about their culture, their way of life...

My perfect plan is walk around random streets and get lost, taking photos, visit expos and museums, sitting a while in a park and end the day drinking a beer or wine in a nice bar.
