ABOUT ME

Hm. Others might be more objective in their descriptions, but then again no one probably knows all sides about anyone else.

I want to learn to understand human behaviour, things that are said and left unsaid, why people (including myself) often act irrationally and sometimes oh-so-rationally.

Nature is important to me: trees, lakes, squirrels, hedgehogs, berry-picking and blue skies.

PHILOSOPHY

Respect others, even if their opinions are hard to swallow.

I have thus far surfed once and hosted once. Both were great experiences.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Learning the word for "ball" in French from a toddler, discussing friendships and reservations late at night, noticing new things about my own hometown when seeing it through someone else's eyes.

To start with: ecological lifestyle, human behaviour, stories, role-playing games, programming, cooking, wildlife, challenging myself, motivation, interpersonal dynamics, wandering, nature.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

There is a lot of variety here, and impossible to find concepts which would accurately describe my tastes. Lists are somewhat restricted too. Ah well, let's try.

Music: this changes. On some days I might enjoy lazy melodies, on others something hard which makes me want to work it out, and sometimes I like to listen to something hauntingly beautiful.

Movies: I have noticed I have truly lost appetite for "shallow" movies. Alas, Hot Shots wasn't funny anymore. But I think I would still like for example Moulin Rouge, Princess Bride, Seven Samurai, Blade Runner, Arsenic and Old Lace, Rambo, and Alien.

Books: the hardest list. To name a few that have influenced me: Lord of the Rings, Crime and Punishment, Sandman, Childhood's End, Ronia the Robber's Daughter, and Little Prince.

Talking - and listening - to a person and realizing that it helped him achieve some kind of an inner peace, even if temporarily.

I may know some things about stress management and healthy eating. Also, I can recite poems from Lord of the Rings (but only in Finnish). And I wish to learn, anything.
