About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be productive in design, active and go adventuring around Canada whilst i'm here :D

*For now we probably can't have surfers arrive/stay weekends as we're all at work. You're welcome to still ask but the likely answer will be a no. Sorry!*

ABOUT ME

Urban Hippie? I like alternative and openness but I grew up in the city. Slowly appreciating the outdoors more and more. My growing up was in London, i'm 1/2 Russian, I have lived in Australia and now reside in Vancouver, Canada.

I dream of dragons and elves and living in a land where they exist.
I'm easy-going. Most things don't offend or really bother me.
I am vegetarian. Mostly for sustainable reasons but also i'm not sure I should eat something I could not kill.
I love travel and exploring new cultures, foods, traditions. Why always stick to what you know?

PHILOSOPHY

I'm ever moving toward the idea of becoming as self sustainable as possible. I'm a long way off, but I think it's a better way to exist. I'd love a house made of recycled materials somewhere in the not too remote countryside blended into the surroundings with 2 chickens and a goat.

I can't be bothered to fight, don't stress over unimportant things and aim to have as much fun as possible. I like people who can take the piss, have the piss taken and enjoy the perils of sarcasm!

9 to 5, 5 days a week in an office wearing a suit is the worst thing I can imagine. Varied work in different areas for continuous change and experience, travel, friendship, and openness is important to me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I think it's good to share accommodation with people new to a place or wanting to save money. I've been in that position many a time and it's always been muchly appreciated, so giving back :D

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far i've only surfed once through C.S. but overall have slept on many a friend's couch/sofa/floor before :) And always offer my couch for essential post party snoozing.

Interests

Creativity in all areas. Print, alternate fashion, colour, geometry, fluorescence, galleries, museums, old stuff, new stuff, any stuff with fluro :D.

Language, travel, foreign food, exploration, mischief, sarcasm and Jagermeister.

Festivals, dancing, dancing, dancing, laughing until crying, camping, hammocks, tinned mackerel.

Music, Movies, and Books

Velvet Goldmine, The Matrix, Pan's Labyrinth, Interstellar.

Books should contain magic, dragons and elves. If not, anything with mystery and intrigue. His Dark Materials, Harry Potter, Hitch-hiker's guide to the Galaxy, Inheritance cycle, Millennium series are amongst my favourites.

Psytrance is #1, specifically hi-tech and forest. The people, the community, the tribe is where I feel most comfortable. Then come drum&bass, techno, psybient and electro. Basically good electronic music. But there are songs I love from all genres...The Presets, Muse, Rammstein and Gogol Bordello...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The first bush doof I went to - Rhythmic Earth 2009, Australia.

Tried to open a tin of tuna for 1/2 an hour with various campsite instruments including a tent peg and a bottle of rum. They don't work. But nearly peed with laughter.

I went caving in the Mendip Hills in Somerset. Epic and exhausting.

Shpongle playing live at Ozora's 2013 opening ceremony was one of the most incredible psychedelic experiences i've had.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can sew, technically.
I can cook vegetarian fairly well...ish.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I suppose some basic Russian. Or maybe how to make your favourite cocktail?
