Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: I thought Whip It was pretty darn cute. Also Coen Brothers stuff, documentaries like King Corn and What Would Jesus Buy, etc.
Music: Kimya Dawson, Mika, Scissor Sisters, They Might Be Giants, Rilo Kiley, Wingnut Dishwashers Union, Cake, The Weepies, Jason Mraz, An Historic, Lily Allen
(god forgive me for my inexplicable obsession with pop music)
Books: bells hooks, Succulent Wild Woman by SARK, Guide to Getting It On, 1984, Wicked, Bell Jar, Kite Runner, Property, Derrick Jensen, Naomi Klein, White Like me by Tim Wise
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach and share bicycle mechanics, vegan cooking, knitting, and probably some stuff that's not coming to mind at the moment.
If you're willing, I'd really appreciate learning/practicing basic Spanish, dance steps, more advanced bike mechanics, and guitar.
As beautiful as the idea of a CS University and skillsharing is, I also want to stress that a thoughtful and courteous couch-surfer who just needs to crash at our place doesn't need to feel pressured to perform. :)
