Overview
About Me
I'm curious, warm and intellectual, with a touch of subversive humor. I enjoy good music, I love to dance (particularly when I lead), I like eating. Eating is totally awesome. My favorite foods are spicy. I come firmly from the school of cooking that believes most things are better with a bit a of siracha. Sometime when I eat Nepali food, I eat a whole green chilly with it.
I'm interested in people, the construction of them, the motivations they have so on an so forth. I have been meditating for several years regularly (mostly in buddhist traditions) and been to quite a few silent of retreats. But I would not describe myself as spiritual in the modern sense of the world. It would be more apt to say I am intrigued by the "deep down things". An urge that makes me as interested in the process of scientific discovery as in the experiences of mystical traditions.
In the last few years I have become very very interested in teaching and education. Particularly in learning from making things.

Music, Movies, and Books
Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Mazzy Star, Mirah, bachata, iron and wine... this list could go on and on. i have an eclectic and encompassing taste in music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Its hard to describe in words especially in writing. But no physical location can complete with the curious phenomena that come out of a sustained meditation practice. The body tingling bliss, the gut wrenching despair are all awesome in the non-cliqued sense of that word... they truly inspire awe.
Teach, Learn, Share
Things I could teach:
- how to make a killer paper airplane
- how to dance salsa or bachata (no one needs to be taught how to dance the merengue)
- SQL. Yup, I can write a mean database query
