About Me

Married my favourite boy and moved to Bangalore. Not hosting for another few months but feel free to reach out if you want to catch up or need tips on India.

I'm an Indian, born and raised in Jaipur, came to delhi to study, stayed back to work. I was a literature student, always had a keen interest in science (but literature we love!), did management consulting for financial institutions for 4-5 yrs after which the quest for meaning in life and work was too much to ward off and now I am a public health consultant working with the Indian health ministry on tuberculosis and family planning.

I spend a significant amount of time on the road for work and travel so not able to host as much as I'd like. Traveling for most part till September beginning.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Why I host-

Had the time of my life on my Canada, euro trip all thanks to CS and the traveler community. Can't wait to return the favor. :)

I realized that i associate every place i have been to with the people i met or spoke to, be it long lost friends i reconnected with or new found friends i grew to cherish with all my heart and even strangers whose small acts of kindness (and sometimes randomness) are the first thing that come to mind when i think of a place.
From the gentleman that offered his umbrella to help me cross the street when London weather was being its quintessential self to the lady that picked my favourite hand glove from the street and found me amidst all the madness in NYC to the server in FFT who insisted i grow a pair and down a dunkel until i finally gave in on the 4th day to not regret it at all and even the server in Paris who defied everything one hears about Paris servers and was one of the sweetest people i have ever met! :)
I remember places through the people and the experiences i have mostly because of them.

Interests

Adventure sports, dancing, driving, people watching, reading, sitting in a cafe or on a bridge or by the beach being very very lazy (that's probably more of a defining characteristic than an interest)

I'm a very enthusiastic but a terrible photographer, very very willing to learn! I also LOVE singing but do not put anyone through the torture of my singing voice. I have been trying to learn spanish for years now and i like long, aimless walks.

Love food! Cannot go without crepes in Paris, apple strudel in Germany, chocolate covered strawberries in London, black bean dumplings in HK... you get the gist.

Music, Movies, and Books

I could go on and on about this - another time?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went to Canada, Europe for a few weeks without over planning and trying to control the shit out of it, made me wayyy better at handling uncertainty while traveling and in life :)
Swam next to a turtle for a good 5 mins while snorkeling, with backdrop of countless schools of fish and corals
Skydiving in California

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach yoga, cooking (vegetarian!), english (used to teach professionally as my summer job) dance, and how not to sing, perhaps.

I can also talk about all things indian and debunk the myths about cows and snakes if that hasn't happened for you already. I am also VERY good at organizing stuff, if that helps.

Would love to be around people who like to sing /play an instrument, dance, photograph or people who like talking in a place with a view, playing board / video games, exploring food / drink joints! Unless you're terribly quiet and won't look in my general direction / speak to me, chances are i'll find something to learn from and remember you by!
