About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Completing my journey to be a scuba dive master in Havelock, Andamans, India!

ABOUT ME

Philippines, India, Czech, France, Spain, Canada, Switzerland, Indonesia. Meeting people, exploring new places and cultures.

Love the waters! and new found love for the mountains!

Scuba diving, swim with dolphins, hiking volcanic mountain, visiting the only perfect cone shaped volcano in the world, visit to tribal village and witnessing the Passion of the Christ .. I saw it all in Philippines! And still exploring

PHILOSOPHY

Nothing better than those small deeds done everyday to bring a smile to someone's face.. makes this world a better place :)
As small as a little chat with the shy kid on the road.. or sharing a joke with a new joiner in the team.. or enjoying learning a new culture with a local.. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

* host travelers
* if time and schedule allows, I also join the surfers in their travel
* meet CS to explore the place, food and to chill
* to find out more about the countries that I plan to visit through other traveler's experiences
* meeting new people, discovering cultures

Interests

Marine, hiking, a people's person.. Love to spend time with the locals wherever I go, do some local jigs that are popular (not necessarily the traditional stuff only, but what is popular with the locals during festivities, celebrations etc.) and share a laugh.

Still trying to find it in Havelock. Hoping to make it home, soon.

Specifically drawn by cultural practices rather than architectures. And in love with volcanoes. Exploring more love interests with each new travel experience. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Not exactly a follower of music, but I like to hear The Doors, Anoushka Shankar, Bob Marley, Don Edwards and more. Hardwell and Pink Floyd do the trick as well.

Books.. not really a reader.. but articles on women empowerment and social issues.
New in the list: on meditation, vipassana.

Movies - Truly enjoy movies like Born free, 12 years a slave, 3 Idiots (bollywood), Inception. But i watch absolutely anything from action. social issues oriented, sci-fi, comedy...

Writing: just started putting together blogs to capture my experience in Philippines and travel http://travellingexploringphilippines.blogspot.com/

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

* Perfect cone volcano, the majestic Mount Mayon when it was at alert level 3. Saw a little lava and ash activity!

* Volcano Mt. Batur and lava fields in Indonesia - what a beauty! Hiking up volcanic sand - not exactly easy. But the top and the exploration around the full rim was a wonderful experience.

* Tribal village of Buscalan and got my first tattoo in the traditional way from the last Mambabatok (tribal tattoo artist). Because that is how you get inked!

* Scuba diving at World War 2 Japanese ship wrecks in Coron #Vintage!

* Subic, Philippines -- swim with dolphin and happy@happystreet

* Leh Ladakh and war-hit Kargil, Jammu and Kashmir (India). The beauty of the Leh and Ladakh is unparalleled to any other i have seen till today! The BEAUTIFUL terrain!
This trip was a short time post the Kargil war. From Leh, we traveled to the war-hit Kargil area and visited schools that were being aided by the Central Govt orgs post war. It was saddening to see the destruction because of the war but a ray of hope when you still saw everyone smiling, kids playing and making merry. Visited a cultural festival where the locals danced and sang filled with happiness! A sight! Kudos to the spirit of the people there.. A great learning experience -- to appreciate life! Kargil, too, has some really beautiful spots! The mountainous range, hills and weather!

* Wind surfing and Diving at Batangas, Philippines - one of the best experiences! Beautiful corals and i saw Sting Ray! :D It was my first time at surfing and I could barely get myself to be on the surf boat for even a few minutes!

Teach, Learn, Share

learn, spread and teach - the art of smile..

In the daily rug of life, we nearly forget being happy. Such a beautiful art to just notice the smallest things in life and be able to appreciate them. Because life is worth it.

Countries I’ve Visited
