Overview
About Me
I am a retired airline pilot since Sep 11, 2014. I spent 45 years in aviation, 7 as an Air force pilot, the remaining years as an airline pilot. Over the years I have visited many cities in foreign countries, however for only a day or 2 at a time. I am now spending my retirement visiting the same cities , but this time, longer stays to really see the city and more importantly to meet the people
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am visiting Zagreb , Croatia for the 5th time since I retired. I normally stay in hotels as I did through my career. I was recently introduced to the Air B n B system. I chose a host that is near the city center. Although it was a random choice, I could not have picked a better place to stay. My hosts are 2 of the most interesting people I have ever met, and they introduced me to the couch surfing system.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have 3 sons, 47,28,26 all over 6'4" and 250lbs, NO daughters or grand daughters,
so through the years I have "adopted" my friends daughters as grand daughters.
And now with frequent international travel I have met some wonderful people along the way and have adopted 2 from Paris and 1 from Havana.
I was in Paris after the tragic event and I met one of the victims in a hospital near the Concert Hall. That meeting turned the "News Event" into a personal event, one I will never forget
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have an extensive library of Photos I have taken around the world and I carry my laptop/portable hard drive at all times
Countries I’ve Visited
Belgium, Canada, England, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Netherlands Antilles, Philippines, Portugal, Scotland, Spain, Taiwan, Viet Nam
