About Me

I'm easy going and don't complain. I make friends easy. I'm a good listener. I'm thoughtful and considerate, and have really good manners. I want to keep learning about different cultures, and love trying new foods, music, information, sights, etc. I've played basketball my entire life, but have learned to love, or at least appreciate all sports. I can go out and drink alcohol and know how to handle myself like a gentleman, or I can stay in and enjoy the time just as much over tea or coffee. Smoking doesn't bother me. I prefer to have music playing in the background as opposed to silence. My friend CJ and I are trying to travel together the next 6 months, but are willing to stay at separate places. If you put me up, you're going to make a good friend that would love to show you the amazing city of Chicago one day.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am trying to see Europe over the course of this year, with no particular deadlines. I don't mind staying at hostels or using Airbnb but I also don't have unlimited funds. In fact, my funds are becoming more and more limited. Couch surfing seems like a great way to see a place on the cheap, and I would love to pay it forward upon returning to the States. My Italian American family and I have been putting people up at our home in the suburbs of Chicago my entire life. It's who we are, we're really good hosts and love feeding people and making them comfortable when they are in our home.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I walked up to some wild horses along the highway in the middle of Iceland and was able to hang out with them; taking pictures and petting them.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know Chicago very well. I can share the great places I know to go with anyone inquiring. I know a lot about restaurants and sports, especially basketball.
I'm also good at cultivating and guiding relationships, and maintaining friendships. My network continues to grow and I have quite to few friends all over the world I could ask favors from if it meant helping out a fellow traveler. My network is especially big in the United States.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Experiences and stories. I can cook and clean for them. I love breaking bread with someone new. I can carry on a conversation with anyone, as long as their is some common ground to get us through language barriers. I have quite a bit of music on my computer we can listen to and discuss and I'm sure I have music that would be unknown to a new friend. I'll definitely pick up the tab on a round of drinks (or two) if we decided to go out.
