I've heard about CS from my friend, experienced traveler, who is still on her way to find the place she can name "home"

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted three German guys back in 2005 in Moscow, and it was the beginning of big friendship for life.. Before I used to do it for friends from my home town, which is 5000 km away from Moscow, for friends of my friends, for members of my huge extended family meeting them at airport, accommodating them at my place or booking hotels/tix, helping to make routes to conference hall/another airport/embassy etc - but I didn't know it was CS ;) Considering Moscow as a huge terminal point I was in a crew, which helps you enjoy your actual journey without knowing I'm working ;)
