About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Carpe Diem! Seizing every day and night!

ABOUT ME

In 2009, I graduated from University of Illinois where I studied Spanish and education. After I graduated, I headed down to Honduras to work as a youth development volunteer with the Peace Corps. I am living in a small town on the El Salvador border. Once I'm back in the US, I would be more than willing to show you around Chicago.

PHILOSOPHY

The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost

TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed many couches without a single bad experience! Unfortunately, I haven't hosted anyone yet but I'll be able to soon...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far it has been great...everyone I meet is easy-going, fun and full of life. I can't wait to meet more people and enjoy more of my travels through couchsurfing.

Interests

I enjoy cooking, playing sports, reading, traveling, and having a great time with my friends. I'm addicted to bad TV and being random! I am always up for doing something new so if you have any ideas, let me know!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love country music (Garth Brooks, Toby Keith, Miranda Lambert, Shania Twain, Brooks and Dunn, Taylor Swift).

I enjoy reading Spanish novelas--the Spanish love stories! My favorite book is The Great Gatsby.

Movies: There are so many great dumb comedias and chick flicks that I love including: Love Actually, Dirty Love, Cheaper by the Dozen, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Super Troopers, Austin Powers, Wedding Crashers, SuperBad. I also like Girl Fight, Fight Club, Lucky Number Sleven, Departed, Ocean's 11, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I cannot narrow it down because everywhere I have been is so beautiful and unique. I would love to go canyon jumping or sky diving some day but the opportunity has not yet come up!

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to help someone learn Spanish. I love tutoring children in a second language because it is something that they understand so well. If you come to Spain and do not speak Spanish, I can help you get by just in case you cannot find someone who speaks English!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Honduras, Spain, United States
