About Me

I am a lifelong student, Canadian, and dedicated traveler. My favourite food is sushi and it will never stop grossing out my parents. I grew up in Alberta and I've worked in archaeology and journalism, both of which were great and took me on amazing adventures. Now I live in Toronto where I'm working on my PhD in anthropology and the academic study of religion.

I like to take chances, visit cool places (I think most places are cool..), and meet awesome people. I'm curious, unconventional, silly, open, warm-hearted, and spring is my favourite season.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've surfed for ~25 nights all over the U.S.A. so far, and ~3 nights in Canada. The kindness, fun, and adventure I have found in the homes of CS hosts has changed my life.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: A little bit of everything, but mostly indie/alternative, electronic/dubstep/trance and folk. I have a major weak spot for 90s music that I give in to once in a while.

Books: Ishmael by Daniel Quinn, A Complicated Kindness by Miriam Toews, and Lamb by Christopher Moore.

Movies: Hearts in Atlantis, Contact, Pan's Labyrinth, documentaries.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Worked in Greece for a summer on an archaeological excavation of a town from the 4th-2nd century BCE!

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn everything and anything the world offers me. From what someone thinks the best way to spend a Saturday afternoon is all the way to what we should do in order to make the world a better place.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm fluent in English and can help you practice. I have taught writing and can help you ace your next essay assignment. I can share my knowledge of the study of religion, politics, and anthropology (I've been studying these things for 10 years and I swear I have something to show for it!)

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Canada, Chile, Greece, Mexico, Peru, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
