Im an expat in Varese.. looking to meet interesting people, and learn more about other cultures. If you ever stay with us, bringing sweets(for Luca..I'm on a diet!) or tea would be appreciated ;-).. and I would love to learn to cook one thing from your country.

ABOUT ME

American..current country of residence, Italy. I've been here 20 years..
I love markets (street markets, flea markets..all kinds..its the thrill of the hunt..finding interesting "treasure" and cool clothes/things that someone else passed by. I have a sugar addiction.. seriously..especially dark chocolate..and Speculoos cream/spread...a jar of Speculoos guarantees you automatic entry into my home! ;-)
I prefer tea over coffee.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm recently trying to tread more gently on the Earth, and be a better person in as many ways possible..trying to be a good role model for my son.. I sometimes lose my temper more than I should, and I love to laugh, and dance!
Im a great believer in "if you cant pay it back, pay it forward!"..I think things in general are all pretty karmic anyways..it all works out in the end. ( I just want to say to any possible surfers that I'm "paying it forward" as a tribute to my dear friends Reyna and Kira, who have hosted me countless times in Paris/Chicago over a 14 year period, and NEVER came to stay with me in Milan(1 night doesn't count Kira;-) so this is for both of you! )

Books all types, I read 2-3 a week.

Movies/Films..a lot of girly types but once in a while I branch out..but never horror(well once in a while..I watched Hostel 1 and 2, and they REALLY freaked me out..I had bad dreams for weeks!) or movies with too much violence.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelled to Europe three times by myself, have seen the pyramids 4 times, once at New Year's Eve. Gave birth to my son..if you never done it , try it at least once(not my son..lol!)..it will change your life forever! ;-)
Watching a murmuration(swarm) of starlings here in Milan..it is the most hauntingly beautiful thing..I could watch them for hours, its just gorgeous.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach anyone to make risotto, and a wonderful creme caramel pudding!
I would like to learn to knit, and be more computer literate!
Luca can thumb wrestle with anyone..but he cheats a bit! He can also teach you some dance moves, and he would love to chat about Fortnite or streetwear or soccer!
