About Me

**** I have left Charleston and am moving to France! I don't currently have a "home," so I cannot host at the moment. ****

CURRENT MISSION

Completing my Master's degree to become an English teacher in France. And, as always, looking for adventure :)

ABOUT ME

easy-going, a little shy, but I love to have fun!

I grew up in Charleston, SC, a beautiful Southern city by the sea. The more I travel, the more I realize how close my home is to my heart, and how much of a Southerner I really am. Not in the scary bible-thumping close-minded kind of way, but in the well-mannered (mostly), hospitable, open and welcoming kind of way. I've been told that I smile too much, but I don't see how this is possible.

I fell in love with France during my semester abroad in 2011, and have since been trying to live here as long as I can! I am lucky enough to have worked as an assistant English teacher in primary schools in Niort and again in primary and middle schools in Limoges, and I loved it so much.

PHILOSOPHY

I want to make the most out of every day. I want to experience as much as possible in life, and to learn everything that I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed a bit, and have met some really wonderful people through the CS community. I have hosted a little, both through CouchSurfing and helping out friends of friends/bands.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met so many wonderful people, both as a guest, as a host, and just to meet up. I read somewhere that Facebook makes real people virtual, and CouchSurfing makes virtual people real. I like that :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've gotten to see a little bit of the world while I've been in Europe (thanks to the generous vacation time here in France). But I have so much more to see and experience!
Sunsets and sunrises in the Sahara and in Santorini were pretty great.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am very interested in languages and cultures. To me, these things are what make us human, and are key in understanding one another. I want to take in the richness that is the world we live in!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to share experiences, cultural differences, and especially language and music! If I get comfortable enough, I love to sing and play guitar and banjo.
