Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm couchsurfing to meet interesting, like minded people who can show me, or advise me on the best parts of their town which I might otherwise miss,. To learn from the locals about their culture and where they are from, and anything else they can teach me. Hopefully to make some awesome new friends while I'm at it.

Interests

I love anything outdoors, from hiking and camping to reading a good book in a hammock swung between two trees. Im not particularly good at any sports, but would love to find more oportunities for wakeboarding and rock climbing. Im excited for this years winter season, snowboarding in Alberta.
I also love food, I like to cook but I'm far from a wizz in the kitchen. I love eating delicious food and trying new things. I recently tried stomach in Colombia.. not so bad, but not so good.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music, I can listen to just about anything, my favourite probably is folk music, alternative, electro pop. If I'm on a night out I prefer house music. I'll admit I do enjoy country music, and my guilty pleasure in Latin American reggeton.
Movies, I'm not a big movie person, a few that come to mind, Into the wild, Argo...
Books, I enjoy those where I can learn about other cultures, or take me on an adventure. The Alchemist (Paulo Colhlo), A thousand splendid suns (khaled Hosseini), Infidel (Ayaan Hirsi Ali).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visit the Galapagos Islands with my mum last year.
Hiking multiple volcanoes in Central America, toasting marshmellows in the hot lava.
Diving in the Carribean, one night dive being surrounded by the phosfluorescent phytoplankton.

If your a terrible cook I can teach you simple and tasty things, but if your any good I'd love for you to show me something.
I'm learning spanish, so any practice would be great, or I can teach you the little that I know.
